The Ace Cafe, London-based Ace's Corner, North Circular Stonebridge Road, is one of the most popular meeting places Cafe Racer enthusiasts. They met about a thousand bicycles in the early '60s welcome visitors 24 hours a day.

Cafe Racer fans arrived around eight, waiting for the clock strikes midnight in order to clear the street and get ready for the recording-ups all the way to the Bussy Bee, another bike culture icon located twelve miles from the ECA in Watford. There were moments when it was decided to set up their jewelry to Club Cafe Racer 59. Together with jukeboxes, a new activity was born, which was to put a record on, climbs on the bike, ride a pre-set course and return to the bar before the song was over. This course open to the street was usually three to four miles, including bridges, intersections and turns, so it's really difficult to complete, because cars, pedestrians or anything that may be on its way while accelerating to full speed. To complete the course, the pilot should maintain a average speed of 68 MPH, giving these daredevils of adrenaline that few could manage.

The typical Cafe Racer was either a single or twin cylinder between 500cc. and 850cc. "It goes without saying that all of them were made in Britain, some examples of the bikes are: Incomparable G12 and G15 CSR, Norton Atlas, Dominator and 650SS, Royal Enfield Super Meteor, Constellation and Continental, and Trophy Triumph Bonneville, BSA Lightning, Spitfire, Shooting Star, Super Rocket and Thunderbolt; Velocette Venom and Viper Clubman, Vincent Gray Flash one ETC.

Although the bikes are the icons above today, there is no doubt that the true pioneer of them all is the Gold Star BSA-su version DBD34 Clubman is the dream of every collector and represents the quintessence of Cafe Racer basic concept, which dates back to the 30s. Among the top manufacturers, we can mention are: Eddie Dow (Gold Star), or the brothers Don and Derek Rickman Rickman (Metisse chassis builders for Pursang Bultaco), who created the first Tribseer 1959 after put together an engine and chassis Triumph BSA.

British motorcycle manufacturers had to keep pace with the market increasingly Cafe Racer, therefore, was built Royal Enfield Continental GT, and the ever beautiful Velocette Venom Thruxton, but would pay a heavy price for not being aggressive enough as it took a decade to implement these models. Something the Japanese manufacturer Honda would take advantage of the introduction of the CB 750, a tour of modern, reliable, safe and well equipped cylinder machine.

The ultimate expression of the culture was the Café Racer player John Norton, with its huge white body and black exhaust. While Great Britain claims to be the place where the movement began, this has not prevented the Italian manufacturers to grab a piece of the market through the introduction of the Ducati 750. Cafe Racer, Harley-Davidson are also related in more Harley Davidson motorcycle sport in its history, XLCR 1000, a monument with seductive lines derived from the Sportster.

What began as a meeting between some friends who prefer an energy bike more suitable for their roads and rural roads, has become not only of European culture, but part of motorcycling history of the twentieth century post World War II.
